What an epic battle! We all enjoyed great tennis and had very close matches. After adjusting to very bouncy courts, we managed to get out of the fencing and put in a good fight. The ladies battled against a very strong pairing and despite very close matches with lots of deuces, we came second. Reece and George put is a solid performance and won convincingly in the tie-break.
In the mixed Kate and George discussed some sneaky tactics and secured a win in another tie-break. Fiona and Reece came a close second after some superb rallies and questionable line calls (Reece 🤣)
Another fun night of tennis with lovely people x

Match Report by carol barnesMeanwhile, over at Woodchurch High School where the 3rd and 4th pairs played their matches, an interesting evening was in store. Multi-sports pitches (look out for the lines!) and a strong wind was posing quite a challenge. However, the team was up for it.
Justin and Dave had a strong match, winning 2-0, however Carol and Ros lost 2-1 following an agonisingly close championship tie break. In the mixed, Justin and Carol won 2-0 and Dave and Ros came through their match to win 2-1.
Overall, 3 wins and a loss made for a great night for the 5’s at Woodchurch.
