PortSunlight2 vs Neston5

Match Report by Craig Trenholm

The Mixed 5th team travelled to Port Sunlight to face their 2nds team.

It was a strong start for Neston, with all pairs winning their first sets. However, a lapse in concentration from Craig and Strongy allowed their opponents’ top pair back into the match. The duo fought back well and eventually secured the win in a hard-fought championship tie-break.

Pinny and Jade played an extremely competitive match, with all eyes on their championship tie-break. The ladies produced some excellent shots narrowly winning 13-11

Kate and Fiona were very consistent throughout and cruised to a solid 6-1 6-1 victory.

Captain Ben and his partner Will won their match comfortably.

Special shout-outs go to Fiona and Will for a double donut win in their mixed doubles, and to Strongy and Jade for a strong 6-3 6-4 victory. Pinny, Craig, Kate, and Captain Ben also came through in their mixed matches, winning via championship tie-break.

An excellent all-round result and a very positive start to the season!

Final score: 40-8 Win

Well played, everyone!
