Neston4 vs Alderley2
Match Report by JASON LONG (C)After the fun and games of Neston 1s flip flopping between choosing the grass and clay all day the 4s luckily ended up on the clay given the result.
Alderley didn’t know what hit them with a fast start from all pairs by taking all the first sets. Jason and Dan continued by taking the 2nd set and making the win look harder than it should have been. Jack and Mark made light work of the 2nd set even with jacks dodgy knee and marks strapped up ankle. Molly and Sue also took the 2nd set against 2 seasoned pros. Lucia and Maddie battled hard but came out on the wrong side of a champs tie break.
Into the mixed. Jason and Molly took on the Alderley top pair and, thanks to a stand out performance from Molly, the win came easily. Dan and Sue came away with a hard fought win even with Dans crocked elbow. The M&M’s breezed past Alderleys bottom pair which saved Marks ankle for another day. The same can’t be said for Jacks knee as him and Lucia took their match into a champs tie break and got the win just as the 1st team were polishing off their takeaway in the bar.
A brilliant 42-6 team win and the perfect start to the season. Well done 🎾
