Match report…..Oxton club was bustling on arrival with full use of the cricket nets and all padel courts occupied. The tennis courts have been recently painted and there is now a wooden spectator shelter with carpeted seats. Martyn caught the last train from London to play championship tie breaks with Steve and Issy🤭.

It was good to meet our new victorious team member William Henson who helped 2nd men to our only win of the evening. The wind was blowing a hooley which gave an obvious upper hand to the opposition!!!! Shirley and William took 4th mixed to a championship tie break as did Lloyd and Kirstie at 3rd mixed. It was a late finish watching Martyn and Issy losing a closely fought match 12-10 in their championship tie break. Laura and Issy put up a valiant performance against 1st ladies. As did Steve and Martyn who lost their mens in yet another championship tie break of the evening.

Final score …Bad guys 34 points, good guys 14 points
