Match Report by LYDIA PREECEA stunning Tuesday night - the sun was shining, perfect conditions for grass! Too bad Neston 1s found themselves at Heswall for their first away game of the season!
Heswall, as our ‘bottom of the table buddies’, welcomed us with smiles, but the mission for both teams was clear - score as many points from the other team as possible!
Tuesday was a night of tie-breaks - both Emma & Amber and Guy & Jack scored valuable points in their respective matches, narrowly missing out on the wins in the championship set! Whilst Heathy & Thom dispensed of Heswall’s top men in straight sets, challenging the anti-top men propaganda!
Temperature and tensions continued to be high going into the mixed games - more tie-breaks to come!
The mixed games had it all, even rackets flying out of hands on serve - although no need to keep hold of your racket when you serve like Guy!
Attention’s turned to the Heswall show court as the team watched a very competitive top pair game, with Heathy & Emma coming out on top in the championship tie-break!
We all then swivelled our chairs around and watched Jack & Jen bring home the bacon in their own 3-set epic!
All sets and points mattered - those extra set wins keep us from the bottom spot this week!
