Match Report by DAVID HILLA changed team this week due to Jason heading off on one of his cycling epics, which meant a last-minute rejig for the lads.
Joe and David, our top pair, were a little slow out of the blocks against Upton’s 1st pair and came off second best. A similar story for Justin and Lydia, as Upton strengthened their side with their No.3 lady, Anna — part of a very strong Upton 1st team performance. Justin and Lydia also battled hard but narrowly lost to the 1st pair.
The highlight of the reverse matches was Joe and David pushing the 2nd pair all the way to a second-set tiebreak win, but they just couldn’t finish it off in the championship tiebreak.
The sun shone, spirits stayed high, and it was an enjoyable morning despite tough opposition and the dodgy bounces on the Upton astro. 🎾
